HARDCARD IIXL AND WINDOWS 3.0
TECHNICAL BULLETIN
When a Hardcard IIXL is installed in a 386 system and Windows 3.0 is
used, non windows applications can not be run in the 386 enhanced
mode. One of the following symptoms indicates a problem:
1) When starting the non Windows application, the screen
goes blank and after the following message is received:
"Not ready error reading drive X: Abort, Retry, Fail?".
Press A for Abort.
2) When starting the non Windows application, the system
locks up at the non Windows application screen. There
is no keyboard response and a warm boot is required to
restart the system.
Plus has successfully resolved the problem with the release of
Version 1.70 of the Plus ATDOSXL.SYS device driver.
To check the version of ATDOSXL that you are currently using, turn on
or reboot your system and watch your monitor for the Hardcard IIXL
DOS device driver sign on message. If the version number is below 1.70,
you may obtain the upgrade by:
1) Calling Plus Development:
(408) 434-6900 extension 5233.
2) Downloading from Plus Development's Electronic
Bulletin Board Service:
(408) 434-1664.
Please note that Hardcard 20, Hardcard 40, Hardcard II 40, and
Hardcard II 80 work normally with Windows 3.0 in all modes. This driver
not work with those Hardcard Products.
